Angry Birds, Happy Campers!

I have very little experience playing Angry Birds on my cell phone, but apparently many children between the ages of 6-15 do have such experience. The idea to knit Angry Birds came to me about a week before camp started. Who knew it would be the most popular knitting project at camp, and inspire knitters and non-knitters alike to pick up two needles and make one (or two... or three...) ??
This is the result of a collaborative design effort between a camper and yours truly. He wanted to knit one of the green pigs from the game. He opted NOT to add a moustache.

And here is a close-up of a 13-year-old's hand knit Angry Bird.
I am so proud of all the campers at Grossman Camp in Westwood, MA who learned to knit this summer! There is nothing more rewarding than the smile on the face of a child who has just made something special all by him/herself!!
Until next summer... Keep on Knitting!
