Holiday Letter 2015: Correctly Colored in Crayon!

Inspired by Marc Chagall's colorful stained glass windows, this year's Holiday Letter comes in the form of a coloring page. How did you do? Did you stay within the lines? I would have liked to print the letter on translucent vellum paper, but opted for opaque 28 lb. white instead. Happy 2016!

Holiday Letter 2015: A Coloring Page!

Would you believe we have not done a holiday letter in three years? Of course, I had to come up with a clever way to share and distinguish all the highlights from 2013-2015. So this year's creative masterpiece is a very trendy Adult Coloring Page! Grab your colored pencils or crayons in blue, red, green, and yellow... and have some fun.

Holiday Letter 2012 Tangram Solution

In our Holiday Letter from December 2012, we presented an assortment of photos which were to be cut out from our letter (gasp!) and reassembled into a house template. There were eleven photo-shapes, of which only seven were necessary to complete the puzzle. There were several possible solutions, but this is one of them:

You may be wondering, "Why didn't I receive a letter this year?" My answer is simple: I haven't mailed it yet! There is a stack of letters yet to be folded, and a box of envelopes that still need to be addressed, stuffed, sealed, stamped, and then mailed. But by the time you receive your letter, the solution will already be available here.

So far, our letters have included numerical limericks, alphabetical rhyming couplets, a crossword puzzle, word search, Jumble, Mad Libs, Origami, and Tangrams. We welcome suggestions for next year's letter-puzzle in the Comments!

In Memory of Alanna DeMella

My son's elementary school enjoyed make-your-own-sundaes and a surprise visit from former Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield yesterday!! Students raised $2,500.00 for "Pitching in for Kids" in memory of Third Grade teaching assistant Mrs. DeMella, who's life was tragically ended by a drunk driver in March 2012.

One-Row Buttonhole

Thank you to Nancy for showing me this video! It gives easy-to-follow instructions for a great, reinforced buttonhole that you complete within one row of knitting. I liked it so much that I've embedded it here for my own future reference.

It makes me want to start a cardigan!
